About

Meet Christina
Just a girl who loves flowers
Hey, I’m Christina, the lead florist and founder behind Grumpy Flowers.
I am obsessed with making spaces beautiful. In a previous life I worked in events, running high-stakes productions and looking after VIPs. It was all training for the biggest day of all. YOUR wedding! It means I can read a room and keep the logistics running smoothly, so you don’t have to stress.
I see wedding florals as one part of your whole vision. I want to know the dress colours, the suits, the napkins, your invites and menus… it all ties together, so the florals lift both the ceremony and the reception.
There is no baby’s breath, dyed flowers, or faux florals here. If you want to feel like you are wandering through an enchanted, untamed garden, you’ve found your gal (it’s me!)

How I work
My design ethos & process
Every couple I’ve had the pleasure of working with has trusted me to capture their vision. In the design process we work through what you want, what you need and what you’re just vibing on. I look at how the florals will work in the space, and where they’ll make the most impact.
I’ve been through wedding planning before, so I get how overwhelming and exciting it can be. Think of me as your creative director. I’ll guide you through the whole design.

5am starts
The market morning
During your wedding prep, I’m all in on making your flowers. Admin is OFF and my flower mode is ON!
While Sydney is still asleep, I head to the flower markets at 5am. I’ve worked at the markets, so I know the growers, and that gets me the very best flowers. I also leave some room to hand-select anything unique, whether for texture or colour.
By the time the sun is up, my trusty blue van is packed and ready to head back to our studio in the Hawkesbury where the rest of the day unfolds.

Testimonials
Kind words from our couples

““Christina created the flowers of my dreams and brought my wedding vision to life perfectly. Every arrangement was stunning, and her dedication and care really shines through.””
Malina & William · Gledswood Homestead & Winery

“When I started this journey of planning my wedding, the most pressure was on the flowers and omg did Christina come through for me. She even magically included my request for white waratahs which is not typically found in a bridal bouquet. My bridesmaids each had smaller bouquets with flowers that made up my two bouquets - one for my tea ceremony and one for my church ceremony. It was so special to have two different bouquets that I could dedicate to my mum and my new mum. Christina was so much fun to work with ❤️”

“Christina was the most amazing and sweetest florist I could've asked for! I started following her years ago when she was just doing bouquets and I was so happy to find out she does wedding florals. She went through the creative process multiple times with me - creative mood boards, calls, Pinterest boards, even Instagram reels and posts. When the day came she totally nailed the brief and I couldn't have been happier! Also super affordable and flexible to work with what I needed. Loved working with her as she was very responsive and quick to communicate, which made my time as a bride stress and hassle-free.”
